About Network of Tuberculosis Campions Kenya

The Network is a strong movement of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) by infected and affected communities and it is registered under the NGO Coordination Board in Kenya and draws members from all the 47 counties and currently has a membership of over 233.

The Network contribute to the Global and National response of ending TB by 2030.

The Network supports TB response in Kenya by advocating for resources for TB and health-related interventions, Engaging in related community activities and using our powerful TB stories for advocacy, contributing towards the promotion of TB awareness, and demanding the creation of TB services in the population. This is expected to strengthen the identification of persons with TB who otherwise would be missing, enhance treatment adherence, and consequently improve overall treatment outcomes.

The Network gives community and patient-related inputs to policy-making processes in TB programming, The Network is the link between the TB-affected Communities and the National TB program.

The development of this Network of TB Champions Kenya strategic plan 2023-2026 is informed by the need to strengthen Advocacy, communication and community engagement for TB response

Snapshot of some of our Success stories

Since inception, the Network has made strides both globally and nationally

At the Global level, we won the prestigious KOCHON Award in 2020 as a result of better coordination and participation in Global Fund Writing Request.

Nationally we have been recognized by the National TB Program as the umbrella for TB Affected communities where we are engaged in the development of key policies and guidelines on TB as a key partner, we have also managed to form Network County chapters with leadership

We advocated for reinstating a TB Clinic in Taita Taveta County that was shifted next to an incinerator back to its original location which is conducive to TB Clients.

As a Network we managed to advocate for resource allocation for TB in Meru County which became the first County to have a specific Vote for TB in the 2020-2021 County Budget
