About Network of TB Champions Kenya

The Network of TB Champions Kenya is a community-led network that brings together.

TB affected communities from all 47 counties of Kenya, with a current membership of over 800 people. The Network engages in community activities through use of lived experiences for advocacy, contribution towards promotion of TB awareness and demand creation for TB services. Through this approach, the Network aims to strengthen identification of people with TB who otherwise would be missing, enhance treatment adherence and improve treatment outcomes.

To empower TB survivors, affected communities, and allies to lead advocacy, awareness, support, and system-strengthening efforts that bring dignity, compassion, and accountability to Kenya’s TB response.

A Kenya free from TB stigma and preventable TB deaths, where every person has access to timely, affordable, and quality TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care.

Our Success Stories

Since inception, the Network has made strides both globally and nationally

At the Global level, we won the prestigious KOCHON Award in 2020 as a result of better coordination and participation in Global Fund Writing Request.

Nationally we have been recognized by the National TB Program as the umbrella for TB Affected communities where we are engaged in the development of key policies and guidelines on TB as a key partner, we have also managed to form Network County chapters with leadership

We advocated for reinstating a TB Clinic in Taita Taveta County that was shifted next to an incinerator back to its original location which is conducive to TB Clients.

As a Network we managed to advocate for resource allocation for TB in Meru County which became the first County to have a specific Vote for TB in the 2020-2021 County Budget
